Questions people actually ask
How is the ATS Readiness Score worked out?
It is scored out of 100 from our own rendered PDF, not from the form you filled in — we render the file, extract the text back out of it, and score that. Eight categories, every lost point named, updating as you type. It is free, and it stays free whether or not you ever buy a download.
Will tailoring add skills I do not have?
No. If a posting asks for something your history gives no basis for, we say so rather than writing it in and leaving you to defend it in an interview. What tailoring does change is the summary, the wording of your bullets, and the order — moving the most relevant work to the front, in the posting's own vocabulary. Each tailored version is a copy named after the job, so your original is untouched.
Do I actually need a cover letter?
Usually not, and we tell you which before offering to write one. It never refuses — you may know about a referral the posting does not mention — but it will not pretend a form on a job board is reading your prose. A letter starts from a job you have already saved, not from a blank page.
What can I start from?
Your LinkedIn profile exported as a PDF, which is read structurally rather than guessed at by a model; an old resume as a PDF or DOCX, where we keep the text and delete the file straight away; a plain structured form with no AI involved at all; or talking it through, typed, pasted or dictated. Every change is shown before it applies.
Does the AI make things up?
It is forbidden from inventing employers, job titles, dates, degrees or credentials — a hard constraint with no exceptions. Where it suggests a number it cannot verify, it marks it as an unconfirmed estimate, highlights it in amber, and lists every one of them before you download.
